Classic Card Games' Timeless Appeal The earliest known playing cards are thought to have appeared in ancient China during the Tang Dynasty (618-907 AD), which is where card games first appeared. Originally used as tiles or dominoes for a vaonline patti gameriety of games, these early cards were not the typical deck that we know today. These ancient card games started to spread to other areas, such as India & Persia, as trade routes grew, especially along the Silk Road. Card games arrived in Europe by the 15th century, where they experienced substantial changes. Every player usually starts the game with a certain number of cards drawn from a shuffled deck, with the remaining cards forming a draw pile. When drawing cards, players alternate between the draw and discard piles, trying to create valid sets (three or four cards of the same rank) & sequences (three or more consecutive cards of the same suit). When a player successfully melds every card into a valid combination and declares Rummy, the game is over. The element of betting adds another level of complexity.
