From November 18th to 24th, countries across Europe will participate in Safer Gambling Week 2024, a vital cross-continent initiative designed to raise awareness about responsible gambling.
This annual campaign unites the gambling industry, government bodies, and charities in a shared mission to promote safer gambling practices while providing essential tools and support for those in need.
At PokerNews, we’re proud to champion this important message, highlighting key safer gambling principles and ensuring our readers know where to find support, no matter where they are in the world.
Key topics at the heart of Safer Gambling Week 2024 include:
Remember...
- It's good to set yourself limits.
- Gambling is not a way to make money.
- It’s good to take a break.
- Friends and family are more important than gambling.
Additionally, the campaign highlights the safer gambling tools available to players, including:
- Set your time and deposit limits
- Self-exclude from gambling
- Block gambling websites
- Limit the gambling content you see
- Block gambling payments with your bank
This year's edition will see Europe present a united front, with the European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA) teaming up with the British Betting & Gaming Council (BGC) to collectively promote responsible practices between November 18th-24th.
